The Southeast Michigan Restaurant Industry Roundtable is a regional partnership whose member organizations promote sustainable business practices for employees and consumers in the food service and hospitality industry.
Roundtable members include restaurant owners, workers, public officials, and community colleges as well as workforce and economic development organizations. All are dedicated to the concept of the High Road to Profitability– the concept that ethical wages and working conditions benefit employers, employees, and consumers by reducing employee turnover, enhancing service, and creating the positive consumer experience that is the key to thriving in the restaurant industry.
As a unique public/private collaboration dedicated to strengthening Southeast Michigan’s restaurant industry workforce, the Roundtable leverages resources in new ways to support a vibrant regional economy with good jobs and plentiful advancement opportunities. The Roundtable serves as a forum to share and learn best practices and sponsors the COLORS Hospitality Opportunities for Workers (CHOW) Institute, our region’s largest provider of free professional restaurant and hospitality training.
